The Football Association of Ireland (FAI) has today confirmed which club’s have been awarded a license to take part in the 2025 SSE Airtricity League of Ireland.
DLR Waves are delighted to confirm the club has been awarded a club license to take part in the 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division.
The following 12 teams will be competing in the Women’s League of Ireland next season:
- Athlone Town AFC
- Bohemian FC
- Cork City FC
- DLR Waves FC
- Galway United FC
- Peamount United FC
- Shamrock Rovers FC
- Shelbourne FC
- Sligo Rovers FC
- Treaty United FC
- Waterford FC
- Wexford FC
There were also licenses awarded for clubs in the men’s Premier Division and First Division, including UCD AFC who will play in the SSE Airtricity Men’s First Division.
The 2025 women’s season will begin on Saturday March 1st with the President’s Cup, which will be contested between league champions Athlone Town and FAI Cup holders Shelbourne. The SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division will begin on Saturday March 8th.
Full league fixtures and cup dates for both the women’s and men’s seasons will be confirmed on Tuesday December 17th.
