Waves Lose Out to Shels

DLR Waves 0-3 Shelbourne
UCD Bowl, Saturday 11th May

DLR Waves hosted 2022 champions Shelbourne at the UCD Bowl last Saturday in a game that saw the visitors win 0-3.

Evergreen Shels captain Pearl Slattery headed in the opener in the 36th minute. In the 2nd half Shels had most of the attacking play, however Waves managed to hold off conceding a second until late on when Slattery made it 0-2. Rebecca Devereux got the 3rd with an excellent finish.

There was good news for the Waves as captain Jess Gleeson made her return from injury and played 90 minutes. Her centre back partner Chloe McCarthy put in a good performance beside her and contributed very well to breaking up Shelbourne attacks.
