Doonan Scores Again as Waves Beaten By Wexford

Wexford 3-1 DLR Waves
Ferrycarrig Park, Saturday 15th June

A tidy finish from Michelle Doonan wasn’t enough as DLR Waves lost 3-1 to Wexford at Ferrycarrig Park.

Wexford have found their form recently and had most of the attacking play throughout the game. The home side took the lead through Freya De Mange in the 20th minute.

The Waves struggled to create chances throughout the match, and often resorted to long balls. They did find success through such methods in the 57th minute when Cliodhna Donnelly found top scorer Michelle Doonan. The striker was composed as she held off a defender and finished really well.

DLR held out well for the next 13 minutes before Ciara Rossiter restored Weford’s lead. Ceola Bergin made it 3-1 with a great finish. Wexford continued to threaten with Eve Badana pulling off some good saves.

It was a difficult evening for DLR Waves as their 3 game unbeaten run in all competitions came to an end.
