The League of Ireland held it’s official launch today for the SSE Airticity Women’s Premier Division as well as the SSE Airtricity Men’s Premier Division and First Division. The competitions were launched ahead of the 2025 campaigns.
12 teams will take part in the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division, making it the biggest season of domestic women’s football. Women’s sides will also play in the Sports Direct FAI Women’s Cup and the All-Island Cup.

DLR Waves are ready to go for the new season with most home games generally taking place at the UCD Bowl. The Waves made several additions to the senior squad and kept the majority of the 2024 team together.
Women’s Premier Division games will be streamed on the new LOITV site. Supporters can buy a season pass for €99 which includes men’s games, and there are also options for monthly-passes and 24-hour passes. LOITV is partnered with Premier Sports this season and is available through the app on various platforms which you can read about here.
The women’s domestic season kicks off on March 1st with the President’s Cup which will be contested between League Champions Athlone Town and Cup Winners Shelbourne. The 2025 SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division begins on March 8th, The Waves go to Galway United during the opening round of games.
