DLR Waves are looking to bounce back from a heartbreaking cup exit, but have a difficult task on their hands as Wexford FC come to the UCD Bowl.
In the reverse fixture this season Wexford won 3-1 at Ferrycarrig Park. The Waves last avoided defeat against Wexford in a league match in July 2022, with that game finishing 0-0. DLR Waves picked up their best result of the season in the FAI Cup last year against Wexford in a thrilling encounter which finished 3-3, with DLR winning a dramatic penalty shootout.

Wexford FC had previously been known as Wexford Youths, but were renamed and brought under the same banner as the men’s team. Wexford have recovered from a slow start to the season to climb up the league table into 5th place. They were narrowly knocked out of both cup competitions on penalties. Wexford are traditionally one of the strongest teams in the league since the competitions formation in the 2010’s with multiple league titles and other trophies to show for their efforts.
